From YoYoGames Wiki

Purpose

The purpose of the YoYo Games wiki is to provide a lot of information about the creation of games with Game Maker. Everybody is invited to contribute. Feel free to improve on posts of others. That is the whole idea of a wiki. It is a collaborative effort to gather all the useful information that exists. If you are new to wiki's you might want to consult the Media Wiki pages.

Editing existing pages

To be able to edit pages you must first create an account. You can do so at the top left corner of the page. Once you have created an account you can edit a existing page by going to the page and clicking on the Edit tab.

Starting a new page

There are various ways to start a new page. The easiest is to type the title of your new page in the search box at the left. If the page with that title does not exist, at the top of the page there is a link create this page. Click it and you can edit the page.

Formatting help

You can format the text in the pages in many different ways. For a good overview see Formatting Help. Here are some of the basics:

• ==Title== creates a header.
• ===Title=== creates a subheader.
• ''Text'' creates a italic Text.
• '''Text''' creates a bold Text.
• [http://www.yoyogames.com YoYo Games] creates a link to YoYo Games.

Using images

To use an image you must first upload it. For this use the link at the left. Best use jpg or png images. Give the image file a descriptive name. Now in the text write [[Image:yourimage.jpg]] and the image should appear there.

Uploading files

You can upload doc and pdf files. Again use the upload link at the left to upload the file and give it a descriptive name. Now in the text write [[Media:yourfile.pdf]] to add a link to it.
