The Goal of a Game Designer
From YoYoGames Wiki
The Goal of a Game Designer, or more appropriately, the goal of a single game developer is to design a fun game which is the best it can be, despite what ever they do to accomplish that. What ever a stand-alone Game Designer can improve, they should improve.
Note: In this case, we are not referring to a professional game designer who only works with concepts of the game and how it is played. So a stand-alone game designer who develops the entire game them self is tasked at many other things; including programming, making the game art, adding sounds and so on.
List of things a stand-alone Game Developer can improve
- Game Decorations: Borders, cursors, and miscellaneous world aspects.
- Learning how to play the game: Rules, Tutorials, Beginning of the game.
- Concept: Originality, how to win, characters and monsters.
- Attitude: Calm feeling, action, mysteries, and so on.
- Story and plot.
- Quality of graphics
